Hey ! How are you ? Thanks for coming here anyway. Today's post is strictly for Linux users, that I've to say first.
Have You Ever downloaded a Linux ISO (International Standardization Organisation) file from the Web ? & tried to burn it but didn't work well ? Even though you might get your CD/DVD burning right, sometimes when you insert your live disk in to your Disc driver It doesn't run the installer as it's supposed to be ?
Live Disk is a complete bootable disk that contains an Operating System
that resides in the memory & doesn't need to be run from the Hard
Drive.
So, the solution is simple. In order to get your Live Disk performing well in the installation you need to make sure two things.
1. CD-R(W) or DVD-R(W)/DVD+R(W) Drive & Disc
2. ISO disc image file
If you're looking for Ubuntu Linux there's a quality page consisting all the Ubuntu releases & the respective links to download them, Here.
Whenever you're finished downloading the Disc image, sometimes due to slow internet connection or Server errors, downloaded image might be damaged. So, to check that follow the given steps.
1. Take Your Terminal.
2. Go to image Downloaded Location. (Use cd Command) . e.g -
$ cd Downloads
3. Type the following Command.
After 'md5sum' press 'tab' key your image file name would be different in name to mine. It should return something like follows.
This depends on downloaded distribution / version of Ubuntu Linux. But, this 32 length character Hash code is specific to a single distribution. For your knowing, here is the link that contains all the Ubuntu Linux Hash Codes.
Check whether your Hash Code Includes there, If it does your download is ready to be burnt. Copy from the terminal & Ctrl+F in the browser for it.
$ md5sum lubuntu-12.04-desktop-i386.iso
